Comedies

It seems like the past few years have had an astonishing amount of great comedy releases in the film industry. This is probably due to Mr. Judd Apatow. Here is a list of my anticipated comedies and a reason why you should see them, well it's the reason why i'm going to see them.

2008

4) Zack and Miri Make a Porno (10/31) - I have seen Clerks, Clerks II, Dogma, and Mallrats from director Kevin Smith. I found only 25% of those films to be funny (Clerks). And one specifically i could not stand (Mallrats). His new comedy is releasing on Halloween. My main motivation to see the movie is because of Seth Rogen. But i'm sure that's everyone's. I have high hopes for this picture because of Mr. Rogen, I know he will never star in a comedy without it being funny.

6) Role Models (11/7) - There are a couple things that would make me instantly not want to see this movie. One is because Seann William Scott is the co-star. The second reason is because i don't like the poster for the movie. There are however very strong reasons to go see this film. The first above all is because of Paul Rudd. He is one of my current favorite actors whom comes from the Apatow team. He also is one of the writers of the film. The director David Wain i find funny on occasion. His show Wainy Days is not terrible. I'm also looking forward to Christopher Mintz-Plasse's first film since Superbad. All in all i'm going into this movie not expecting much, after viewing the trailer, but i won't be surprised if i walk out of it laughing.

5) Fanboys (11/26) - I can't say much about this movie, because i may not be able to see it until its DVD release due to the limited release. The story sounds funny and Jay Baruchel is starring in the picture. As well as Seth Rogen and Kristen Bell from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Prime cast members from the Apatow team always makes a movie promising.

7) Yes Man (12/19) - Jim Carey and Zooey Deschanel seems interesting. I'll always think Jim Carey is a hilarious comedic actor, this is his first role in that position in a while. Also, Zooey Deschanel is a cutie pie. The less i have to say, the less excited I am about the movie. I will go see it and this is how excited I am for it.

2009

3) I Love You Man (1/16) - This movie has high hopes for me. The cast consists of Jason Segal, Paul Rudd, Jon Favreau, and Joe Lo Truglio (creepy guy from Superbad/Pineapple Express). Meet the Parents is my favorite from the director John Hamburg. I think he'll be able to make this a great comedy. Jason Segal is my second favorite actor from the Apatow team (i may be saying that too much). This movie will be funny. Jason, Paul, and Jon won't let me down.

2) The Year One (6/19) - This movie and my next movie has no reason for me to even talk about why i'm going to see it or why you should see it. This is my second most anticipated movie, that i know enough about at this time. If you don't know what this movie is you should go to http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1045778/ and read the plot and look at the cast. That should be enough incentive for you to go. I've already marked it on my 2009 calendar.

1) Funny People (7/31) - My most anticipated movie at this time. The new movie from director Judd Apatow starring Seth Rogen and Adam Sandler. This will easily be the funniest movie of 2009. I'm sure The Year One will be a guaranteed second. It's not that i don't think The Year One will be hilarious and one of the best comedies, it's just my director-Apatow hopes are higher then anything else, even higher then producer-Apatow hopes for movies like The Year One.

Note: I got bored with this post and did not proof-read or anything, so forget you if it sounds weird!!
