Netflix or Blockbuster?

This may not be a big debate, but i will share my opinion regardless.

I recently subscribed to Blockbuster alongside ex roommate Benjamin Gaudette. We paid 17 dollars a month for 2 dvds at a time. And 3 in store exchanges.

After Ben bailed on me and moved out we canceled our Blockbuster Online service. I have heard that Netflix was it's big contender with online movies, but i just figured blockbuster is cooler. Then again i usually am smug about things i haven't tried, and will just say Blockbuster is a lot better when i haven't really had any other service.

Well let me tell you folks something. Netflix is much better. Not only do i have over 100,000 titles to choose from but i can watch an unlimited amount of movies online from over 40,000 titles, for only a small fee of 7.99. Now this is pretty cool versus blockbusters 80,000 titles period.

One of my biggest problems with blockbuster was the "Wait, Short Wait, Long Wait" on many dvds i attempted to rent. I have had no problems with Netflix thus far on any wait times, and i have rented some obscure titles. For example i attempted to rent a late 1960's television show titled "The Monkees" and blockbuster said it was a "very long wait" meaning i was probably never going to get that dvd. When i made to switch to Netflix that was the first dvd i got with no wait time whatsoever.

Am i saying i like Netflix better because i was able to monkee around. No. The selling point for me was the unlimited views online of over 40,000 titles which include many new releases and television shows like The Office(UK). Another juicy little nugget is the fact that i also bought a video card for my computer to send a monitor signal to my tv. So now i can watch
any of these 40,000 titles on my 42".

All in all i recommend you blockbuster folks to migrate to the Netflix side. And for people deciding which company to choose, Netflix is the answer.
